What are the differences?

There are a few hundred ecommerce / shopping cart software solutions out there. It'scrazy. Many look similar on the surface, but as you dig deeper, they're quite different and most are not worth a second look. Where do you start? First off, "open source" or free software is the wrong place to start. There are numerous problems with open source software including and most importantly security. The free open source has been known to get hacked quite frequently and updates and patches are inevidible at least 5 or 6 times a year. Light Visions Web Design does not use any form of open source shopping cart software. We use only the best technology available in the industry, and it is very affordable. We've seen it many times, people try to save a couple hundred dollars on the front end and use open source software, but in the long run they spend close to 10 times as much fixing bugs, code issues, and other various problems.
